- Abstract
The article discusses the use of simulators in obstetric education in Australia. It presents information on the obstetric training in the 17th century and discusses the training received by apothecary Mathew Flinders. It highlights the obstetric simulators used in the 18th century including the pelvis simulator, the torso simulator, and natural fetal mannequins. Also discusses is the advances in simulator technology and the collection of early obstetric simulators in Australia.
