- Title
A clinician's perspective on providing TB services in the Torres Strait.
- Authors
Vincent, Stephen D.
- Abstract
The author offers views on providing tuberculosis (TB) services in the Torres Strait. According to the author, the regional control unit established TB outreach services on Saibai and Boigu Islands to treat patients from Papua New Guinea with multidrug-resistant TB, both for humanitarian reasons and to lessen the health risk to Australian citizens. The author cites the decision of the Queensland government to close the TB outreach clinics on Saibai and Boigu Islands.
