- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented of the 1791 English Gothic novel "The Romance of the Forest," by Ann Radcliffe. Particular focus is given to the depiction of the heroine Adeline's performance of sensibility, including in regard to her influence of the book's other characters through her performance of emotions.
