- Abstract
The article discusses the red light camera and speed camera programs in the U.S. The cities and states have used the program, stating that these have reduced the number and severity of traffic accidents and deaths, and have produce revenue as a byproduct. Seattle, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Arizona have deployed 30, 15, and 200 cameras, respectively. Jake Kononov, director of research for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), notes that they have also looked at yellow light timing as this may lead to dangerous intersections.
