- Abstract
The article titled "Effect of light on the longevity of Caenorhabditis elegans" presents two different studies. The first one focuses on the implementation of whole slide imaging in parasitology laboratories, using robotic microscopes to scan and digitize complete glass slides. The results show that students positively evaluated this tool and are interested in learning how to use it. The second study evaluates the effect of blue light (LED) and medium wave UV light (UVB) on the longevity of Caenorhabditis elegans. The results indicate that continuous exposure to LED and UVB light has a negative impact on the longevity of these larvae, while periods of 12-hour darkness protect them from death.
