- Title
Every Child a Singer: Techniques for Assisting Developing Singers.
- Authors
Smith, Janice
- Abstract
The article focuses on encouraging budding singers. Music is a deeper emotion than words. Therefore, children should be encouraged to sing as it is a form of self-expression. Music strengthens the bonds of community and fellowship. Children should be exposed to good music which will enhance their interest in singing and improve musical ability in them from an early age. Music teachers should avoid keeping the pitch too low which does not suit the vocal capacity of young children. Every child, irrespective of whether they are born with musical talent or not, can sing if they are provided with the right coaching.
