- Abstract
Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) is the fundamental rethinking and radical redesign of business processes to achieve improvement in critical contemporary measures of performance, such as costs, quality, services and speed. BPR is a holistic approach, which provides a process to link the competitive business and growth strategy of an organization -- a linkage that can be greatly enhanced by employing e-enabled innovative technologies and services. In this paper, an attempt has been made to review some of the recent approaches, methodologies and models developed so far in linking BPR application perspectives to such emerging sectors of economy as industries, banking and cooperative enterprises with a view to enhance their organizational and competitive efficiency with low-cost solutions.
