- Title
Round Table Counter-spin: A Response to Boyd Neil.
- Authors
Basen, Ira
- Abstract
The article presents the author's replies on the comments made by Boyd Neil, senior vice-president at Hill & Knowlton Inc., a public relations company based in Canada on the radio series entitled "Spin Cycles: A Series About Spin, the Spinners and the Spun" produced by him. He states that Neil was within the rights to disgree with the use of his word spin in the series but he was wrong to suggest that the series advanced only in singular definition. He states that his radio series nowhere claimed that the firm of Neil caused the Gulf War as blamed by Neil in his review. He concludes that throughout the radio series he tried to make clear the flaws of journalism and public relations and advises that Neil should have another listen.
