- Abstract
A new type of asymmetric radial bogie, which is structurally simpler, space- and cost-efficient with only half the number of rods and joints of symmetric radial bogie, is proposed and its guide mechanisms and working principles are elaborated. Using SIMPACK, the multi-body dynamics analysis software, three whole vehicle models of asymmetric radial bogie, symmetric radial bogie and conventional bogie are set up. Our results show that this asymmetric radial bogie has substantially the same dynamic performance with symmetric radial bogie.
