- Abstract
The article explores how the U.S. public has witnessed media images policing through the use of excessive force, such as assaults, false arrests, verbal abuse, and terrorization. Topics include experiences of Black people fighting for justice in the U.S. residents protesting extreme social inequality in Ecuador and Chile; Muslims in India facing violence for their religious beliefs; women in Mexico and Santiago protesting gender-based violence are the targets of police violence.
