- Abstract
The article investigates the role of aqueous humor nitric oxide (NO) levels in the pathogenesis of branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) as an ischemic process. The researchers used spectrophotometric method and a standard curve to measure the total NO concentration from nitrite and nitrate in biological samples. Findings revealed a higher mean aqueous humor level of NO and mean central macular thickness at baseline in the BRVO group than in the control group. Analysis showed the lack of correlation between NO and macular thickness in either group.
