- Abstract
The objective of this article is to analyze the research published in the last ten years on parental mediation regarding the use that children and adolescents make of ICT. A narrative review of the articles published in scientific journals indexed in six academic databases was carried out. As a result of the analysis of the articles, four categories were constructed: 1) Knowledge and perceptions of parents about the Internet; 2) Parents' role in the use of the Internet by children and adolescents; 3) Other mediations and self-control in the use of the Internet; and 4) Parental practices beyond the use of ICTs. The conclusions are related to the accelerated process of Internet penetration, which is not reflected in effective and preventive mediations regarding possible risks that children may encounter in digital environments.
