- Abstract
The article presents practical advice for physicians on how to practice medicine with integrity in hostile cultures, and it mentions the author's experiences in a case involving obstetrics care, abortion, and a physicians' conscience clause in Poland in 2014. The author's written refusal to perform an abortion at the Holy Family Hospital in Warsaw, Poland is examined, along with the relationship between the Catholic Church and abortion. The Polish Medical Code of Ethics is assessed.
