- Abstract
Concentration is stated as the dominance of several firms in economic activities in any sector. The high concentration rate in a market shows that the market is far from a competitive structure. The aim of this study, using CRn, Herfindahl-Hirschman Index, Entropy Index, Rosenbluth-Hall Tideron Index, Hannah-Kay Index and Gini Index is to analyze the degree of concentration of the Turkish white goods industry. In the study, concentration rates are determined by using the net sales figures of the companies operating in the Turkish white goods industry between 2005 and 2015. As a result of the analyzes, it is determined that the concentration rate of the Turkish white goods industry is very high and it is determined that the level of competition is close to the oligopolistic market. Moreover, in the study, suggestions were provided to ensure competition in the sector.
