- Authors
Devriendt, Mattias; Castilleja, Diana; Houvenaghel, Eugenia
- Abstract
This article elaborates the way the Mexican writer Pedro Ángel Palou, member of the Crack generation, is moving within the postmodern frame. It concerns the original incorporation of autonomous worlds and marginal characters in his oeuvre. First, this project discusses the theoretical side of those concepts. Second, the detailed analysis of three texts, Memoria de los días, Paraíso clausurado and ‘Parque Fin del Mundo’, proves the relevance of this strategy for the postmodern writer. Furthermore, the analysis of this strategy strengthens the hypothesis that Pedro Ángel Palou and by extension the entire Crack generation closely join the postmodern movement, while still searching for a personal and creative voice.
