- Abstract
The article presents a research study which tested the utility of DNA barcoding across eight orders of lichen-forming fungi. The author indicates that around 92% of species possess a barcode gap when using the internal transcribed spacer of nuclear ribosomal DNA, and that DNA barcoding in a floristic context has a high potential to identify specimens to the correct species.
