- Abstract
The article focuses on the prenatal diagnosis of retinal coloboma using virtual fetal eyeground, a new three-dimensional 3D ultrasound technique. It presents the case of a 23-year-old primigravida who was examined at 27 weeks, in which the presence of fetal colobama was confirmed following virtual fetal eyeground. It relates that the new technique provides visualization of the entire retina from 16 weeks of gestation and onwards. Several photographs depicting the fetal colobama are presented.
