- Title
Executive Death/Survivor Benefits: An Analysis of Alternatives.
- Authors
Klock, David R.; Klock, Phyllis A.
- Abstract
Considerable tax and accounting uncertainty currently exists with regard to several programs designed in the 1970s to provide preretirement and postretirement executive life insurance benefits. As a result of the Deficit Reduction Act of 1984, many programs of this type (e.g., retired lives reserves) have been reduced dramatically or have been eliminated. To continue the desired coverage, benefit planners often have turned to individual policy programs where discrimination is not a problem. The purpose of this paper is to help benefit planners recognize the relevant issues and to help them form their own analytical framework for reviewing individual life insurance products. Of particular interest is a review of recently designed no-load life insurance products aimed at the corporate market.
