- Abstract
The article discusses the rise of popularity of homeschooling in the United States where according to the U.S. Department of Education around two million children were homeschooled in 2011. It mentions the fight for legal recognition of the right to homeschool at the states level by mentioning the U.S supreme court cases like Wisconsin v. Yoder, Meyer v. Nebraska and Pierce v. Society of Sisters and their interpretation by some scholars.
