- Abstract
Introduction: The hipodermoclysis can be an alternative to patient's replacement of fluids, electrolytes and medications. Objective: To identify the benefits of using hipodermoclysis in cancer patients under palliative care. Method: integrative literature review, conducted through electronic search portal in the Virtual Health Library, between March and October 2012. Results: Ten articles were analyzed, with the predominance of literature reviews. The area covered by the approach most studies referred to the advantages of hypodermoclysis for hydratation in patients with end stage disease. Conclusion: The hypodermoclysis is the best choice for hydration in patients receiving palliative care, to be safer, provide more comfort to the patient and autonomy, lower risk of fluid overload and reduced hospitalization.
