- Abstract
The article discusses fictive utterance approaches to the philosophy of fictionality in relation to both narratives and works in relation to the author's previous book "Aesthetics and Literature." Topics include the views of the philosophers John Gibson and Stacie Friend, the relation of a real setting to make-believe events or characters, and the role of false beliefs in fiction. Also addressed are the distinction between fictional and nonfictional works, new journalism, and the relation of facts to fictional works.
