- Abstract
Cardiovascular problems are known to be the most common cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with Marfan Syndrome. Nurses have important responsibilities in increasing well-being. In this case, the care of a patient with Marfan Syndrome who underwent Bentall operation using the Functional Health Patterns (FSA) model and the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA) and Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) system. plan was evaluated. The case was followed for 3 days by the researcher in the cardiovascular surgery intensive care unit, and the data were collected using the FSS model. NANDAI was used for nursing diagnosis and NIC system was used for nursing interventions. Problems were identified in 6 areas in the Taxonomy II part of NANDAI: comfort, activity/rest, security/protection, coping/stress tolerance, nutrition, perception/comprehension. A total of 11 nursing diagnoses were identified, 5 of which were risk diagnoses, related to areas where problems were detected. It is thought that the PSS model was effective in the planning of care in the case. In the postoperative period, the diagnosis of the patient according to the FSS model and the use of NANDA-I and NIC classification systems contributed to the provision of a systematic nursing care.
