- Abstract
It is well known that some insects show the ability to walk on the surface of water. This phenomenon can't be explained by the buoyancy force, but by the surface tension force; due to this force the liquid drops tend to be spherical. The surface tension of some liquids can be measured using a syringe (with circular tip) and high speed camera. The aim of the present work is to consolidate the concept of surface tension and to measure it by means of a pendant drop method.
