- Abstract
Couples live a quest for identity and sense in a scenario of certainty and empirical testing that feeds illusions of control and stability. Partner's commitment involves illusory assurances, avoiding the possibility of the uncertainty of life and death. However, love and desire are nuclei of sense emergence in the couple, but they run off when the wanders are built in certainties. The experience of temporality, time of being in couples life, contradicts with the linear temporalities and programs. When couples perceive that future projects are constantly threatened, they experience suffering and fear. Circular time is the eternal time, kairos for Greek culture, and the emerging experience. In this time of being, the emotional intimacy, the legitimacy of the other and the faith in love are developed. These considerations about uncertainty and temporality attempt to propose therapeutic interventions in couple's therapy, towards the re-signification of time and certainty by the consultants couples.
