Dietary Supplements.
- Abstract
The article reports on a report which was released by the U.S. Government Accountability Office on March 5, 2009. In the report the office suggested that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) needs more oversight authority to police dietary supplements and foods that contain supplements. The office also called for the F.D.A. to have additional regulatory authority over dietary supplement manufacturing facilities and to have expanded reporting on the adverse health effects of supplements.
