- Abstract
A new autonomous implant sensor positioning measurement technique is discussed. The goal of this study is to develop ubiquitous medical systems with autonomous nano-medical sensors and robots. The key to achieving the goal is to establish autonomous positioning measurement for these implant objects without imposing a burden on patients. For this purpose, this study proposes autonomous positioning measurement with human voxel data. The technique combines two algorithms: autonomous distributed measurement of sensors with Sammon's map, which is a nonlinear mapping algorithm, and a voxel human model clustered with the propagation characteristics of human tissue. A simulation experiment shows that the proposed technique makes possible precise positioning measurement in a heterogeneous propagation environment in the human body. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
