- Abstract
The article provides information on the draft treaty presented by the U.S. and the Soviet Union to the 25 nation Disarmament Conference meeting in August 1972 in Geneva, Switzerland. The draft treaty is an international agreement which aims to eliminate the production and stockpiling of bacteriological weapons. It contains 14 articles preceded by a preamble that discuss the purposes of the agreement. The most important operative provisions of the treat are reflected in Articles 1 and 4. It also consists a provision that all nations will take all necessary safety precautions to protect the population and the environment.
