- Abstract
Due to the increasing competition conditions, surviving of the companies has become more challenging than before and the concept of strategic management has increased its importance. In this sense, companies develop different strategic management methodologies and conduct detailed analyzes in order to identify the components that will enable them to achieve the targets that will provide sustainable competitive advantage in various markets and design the contents of these components. Within the scope of this study, a literature review was conducted in the light of current studies published on strategic management as the subject has become a remarkable research area on a global scale, and a methodology for designing a business strategy was dealt with and an application was made for the Turkish Eximbank institution carrying the export promotion mission in our country. As a result of the mentioned application, the strategic competencies of the said institution were determined, the value chain steps were identified and strategic activities were introduced to ensure the achievement of the determined strategic goals.
