Objective: To systematically review the studies published in the last 10 years about the performance and effects of dance in labor. Methods: Systematic literature review conducted through a digital bibliographic search in articles like clinical trials and randomized studies, in the period between 2011 and 2021, in the complete electronic databases PubMed, BVS Scielo and Science Direct. Results: 4 articles applicable to the eligibility criteria were included. The population studied was women aged between 18 and 35, who are parturient, that show the effects related to dance in the transpartum. There was no great variability in the resources used and the studies positive and similar results. Conclusion: Dancing proved to be beneficial for parturients in the studies analyzed during labor in terms of comfort, satisfaction and in reducing the perception of fear and trauma during childbirth. However, more research is needed, given the moderate methodological scores and the scarcity of important studies.
