- Abstract
The article discusses the legal aspects of maritime wrongful deaths in the U.S. It mentions that the Jones Act, Death on the High Seas Act (DOHSA), and the general maritime law covers the maritime wrongful death law. It states that the Federal maritime law displaces any state laws but the latter may serve as a supplement to the Federal law if the Federal law is silent. It concludes the there will be injuries and deaths for any seaman who sets to sail in ship.
