- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the ice-dynamic transitions of the ice sheet in Antarctica. The participants of the International Polar Year 2007-2009 project Antarctic Surface Accumulation and Ice Discharge (ASAID) use a customized software to map the boundary of grounded ice features and the boundary of freely floating ice shelves. It is found out that the freely-floating boundary assumes the landward position on ice shelves reflecting the amplitude of oscillating ocean tides.
