- Abstract
The article reports on a proposal that requires U.S. employers with at least 50 full-time workers to offer them health insurance with essential benefits or pay a fine. The article notes a public meeting is scheduled for May 29, 2013 to discuss how to define "full-time" in the proposed rule, an issue that is is being worked on by the Treasury and Labor Departments and the ERISA Industry Committee (ERIC). Topics include long-term disability benefits and the amount of the fine or excise tax.
