The article explains the ethics and importance of witness preparation and counseling. It presents examples of ways an unprepared witness can harm a case and outlines actions that lawyers must take for witness preparations. It discusses tactics and ethical violations for lawyers preparing the witness, that include improperly influencing a witness while preparing the witness to testify and while the witness is testifying like providing a lawyer's theory and improper objections during deposition.
