The author offers his views concerning a German newspaper's sociological survey about family planning. Descriptions are given of the author receiving the survey in the mail, looking at the questions, and realizing that the research value of the survey was not very high. The negative impact the survey casts on sociological research in general is discussed, and it is noted that the questions relating to families and careers are too important to be superficially handled by a newspaper survey.
