- Abstract
The article explores the methodologies and components involved in the psychological profiling of terrorists. According to the author, the profiling of an operative who commits acts of terrorism involves acquiring and analyzing data about the person's psychological disposition, motives, behaviors, and social factors such as family backgrounds and professional attainment. It also notes that in determining the psychological profile of terrorists, examiners need to consider the different roles of people in a terrorist group including those in leadership positions, members of the combat team, and operational planners. Details related to the inductive and deductive methods used to develop a psychological profile of an individual of concern are also included.
