- Title
"Well-Known Things": Experience, Distance, and Perspective in William Morris's "The Defence of Guenevere".
- Authors
LINDSKOG, KATJA
- Abstract
An essay on English poet William Morris and his poetry is presented. Topics discussed include his work "The Defence of Guenevere, and other Poems," the seeming narrowness and overly specific attributes of his works, and the aspects of his poetry which include historical distance and the ethical value of perspectiveless and continuous space. His penchant to emphasize the connections between aesthetics and political principles is also explored.
