- Abstract
This article discusses the excavations of the University of Florida Historical Archaeology Field School at Kinglsey Plantation on Fort George Island in the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve National Park in Jacksonville, Florida. The excavation of African American antiquities relating to firearm use and spirituality at this site is described. The discovery of tabby walls, which are constructed with limestone, sand and shells, from a sugar plantation at the site is also noted.
