- Abstract
This study seeks to answer a series of questions regarding the development of poetic formation in Mahmoud Darwish’s poetry. It proposes a variety of insights into the structure of his poem along with its intellectual and artistic references that has led to a very distinctive poetic experience. It was necessary to highlight its symbolism and imagery, especially when describing words such as olives, handkerchief, and the moon to showcase its meaning. It was only natural for the study to end on survival and departure issues and the correlation concerning the self and the other, which was established on the conflict in its various aspects.
