- Title
Choosing Sides: The US Media and the Palestine Conflict.
- Authors
Ackerman, Seth
- Abstract
A conference paper on how the U.S. media presents the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to the American public is presented. It states that the Israeli occupation of Palestine is omitted from over three-quarters of stories in the newspaper "New York Times." It cites a study by Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, which reveals that National Public Radio (NPR) reported the deaths of 62 Israelis and 51 Palestinians from January-June 2001, while 77 Israelis and 148 Palestinians were actually killed.
