The article presents criticism and explores the history of the documentary film "The Battle of San Pietro," directed by John Huston. Emphasis is given to topics such as the role of the film in collective memory of the Allied invasion of Italy during World War II, the recreation of combat scenes after the actual battle, and the film as an anti-war statement for Italian audiences.
