- Abstract
The article considers the use of Skeltonics in the 1915 poem "Words" by Edward Thomas. Topics discussed include the description of Skeltonics as a short line for lyric poetry which is susceptible of minor variations according to author George Saintsbury in the 1906 book "History of English Prosody," preference of Thomas for extended, parenthetical sentences that flow over lines, and role of repetition and accumulation in the Skeltonic structure in the poem.
