- Abstract
The article explores the characterization of the Frangula azorica bark by light and scanning electron microscopy. The whole and powdered dried plant material were used in this study. The bark has channelled external surface with frequent lenticels, flattened cork cells and a collenchymatous cortex. Its botanical characters serve as significant markers that can be used on quality control protocols of this plant.
