- Abstract
Results are presented for vacuum gas oil cracking on Fe-pillared montmorillonites FeNaHMM and FeCaHMM. The physicochemical characteristics and acidities of the composites are determined. The catalysts showed increased activity for forming light gas oil. Mossbauer spectroscopy showed that Fe in the pillared materials was reduced from trivalent to divalent by hydrogen formed during the cracking.
