- Title
AIDS and Postcolonial Politics: Acting Up on Science and Immigration in France.
- Authors
Bosia, Michael J.
- Abstract
The article presents an examination of the relationship between postcolonial politics, French hemophiliacs, homosexuals and immigrants, sex workers in Cameroon and HIV positive Ugandans participating in medical research. The author compares these groups of individuals from a perspective based in postcolonial politics. A link between these groups is established that is rooted in the inequality that arises when local expertise is ignored, human needs are misrepresented and racism is used to allow the exploitation of some for the benefit of others.
