- Abstract
King Charles I of England wished to impose on the British Isles, England, Scotland and Ireland a one ecclesiastical system, despite the existence of religious differences and doctrinal differences. England was converted to Anglicanism, Scotland was adherent to the Presbyterian faith, while Ireland was Catholic. To this end, he issued a number of resolutions and legislations. The most important and most dangerous of all is the issuance of the Book of Prayers, which caused the outbreak of the revolution in Scotland, which went through two stages: the first represented by the war of the first bishops, and the second represented the Second Bishops' war.
