- Abstract
The Nomos Georgikos mentions several animal species, mainly quadrupeds as oxen, donkeys and sheep, but also pigs and dogs: the relations between these animals and the men who worked the land as farmers produce juridical consequences, as reparations for damages and punishments of crimes, ruled by norms coming both from customary law and Justinian's compilation, their presence could represent a sort of interpretation key in studying the compilation technique of the whole collection through the heritage of Roman law.
