- Title
A TRANSLATION OF A TRANSLATION.
- Authors
Jean-Charles, Régine Michelle
- Abstract
The author responds to the essay "The Taste of the Archive," by Brent Hayes Edwards. She contemplates on the complexity in which translation figures as a visual, linguistic, archival, rhetorical and critical enterprise. She considers translation in the essay as an archival encounter and an invitation of a rumination about how photography opens a visual conversation. She explains the meaning of several words in the essay and identifies geographically and culturally specific translation.
