- Abstract
The article "Can resistant ryegrass be introduced into arable land through seed?" discusses whether resistant ryegrass could be present in commercially available ryegrass seed and thus spread through the sowing of ryegrass as an undersown crop or field fodder. Field trials were conducted in Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia to test the effectiveness of herbicides from different HRAC classes against commercially available ryegrass mixtures. The results suggest that resistant or tolerant ryegrass biotypes may be present in commercially available ryegrass mixtures, albeit to a very small extent, making resistance introduction into arable land possible through this pathway.
