Some Plants from Arid Zones Used By Homeopathy.

- Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify those plants used in Homeopathy that grow (wild or cultivated) in arid regions, sandy or dry soils, and collect information about their scientific synonymy, botanical family, parts used, place of origin and habitat published in databases, Pharmacopoeias, Materiæ Medicæ and other books and journals. The methodology involved bibliographic review of databases, books and indexes by keyword (scientific name and botanical family). Information was gathered about 162 species related to 65 botanical families. Origin or habitat: 58 European, 56 American, 45 Asiatic and 20 African, although some species can live in two or more Continents. Of these species the parts of the plant used were, in decreasing order: whole or complete plant 48; root (or rhizome) 27; leaves 25; flowers 21; fruits 20; seeds 11; bark 11 and stem 7.
