THE PHILADELPHIA HISTORICAL COMMISSION ORGANIZATION AND PROCEDURES.
- Authors
TINKCOM, MARGARET B.
- Abstract
The article discusses the way the Philadelphia Historical Commission, a.k.a. Bill No. 493, is able to carry out its objective. Highlights include the collaboration of the Commission with various government bodies like the Redevelopment Authority and the Department of Licenses and Inspections. Part of the reasons cited why the Commission appears successful is that the law gives it a lot of room to implement its objectives. Details are also provided on how the Commission identifies, finances and maintains the preservation of its historical sites.
